Blattodea
This order consists of cockroaches. They have a flat body, antennae and long bristled legs. They have sensors called 'cerci' that help them know their surroundings. They are also able to eat just about anything, which helps when competing with other species for food. In Australia, out of the 450 species that reside here only 5 are considered pests. Many are wingless and some have reduced wing sizes. They have many different colours such as yellow and even blue. They like to forage in vegetation, leaf litter and undisturbed soil.
